On Monday, we got up for breakfast about 8AM, ate, then called Nat. We finally
got up with him about 11:30AM or Noon. He was cutting grass when we arrived at
his house. Nat called a friend, Ernie Scott, a local historian, made an
appointment to meet him at about 3:00PM, then we struck out for St. Patrick's
Parish church to try to find the gravestone of an ancestor/relative. We had
lunch in an award winning pub, The Meeting House - very good! Then went off to meet Ernie and
visit another graveyard.

We didn't find the gravestones for which we were looking, but in the
process we did see some very nice Celtic crosses and a stained glass
window. Below are pictures of some of them.

For a more detailed account of the day's search for things ancestral, and
more background on my ancestors, please go to my
Genealogy page. The links to the house and mill pages are there.
The short background of our ancestral searches in Co. Antrim is that Andrew Lamont Young is
my direct ancestor. John Lamont Sittlington is Andrew's brother. To
understand all this, see the
Genealogy page.
So, we were searching for Andrew's house, John's
house and the linen mill which was owned and run by them both. However, in our search for the mill, Ernie
and Nat thought it would be one they knew as Harvey's Mill. So, after
meeting Ernie and going through the second graveyard, Nat, Brandy and I headed
for Harvey's Mill.
On, to Harvey's Mill Pix, Larne!
